1840 Folded entire from Campione, dated internally 25 Sbre 1840 and addressed to Verres (Aosta Valley), handstamped LUGANO 26 SEPT 1840, also 2-line pmk VIA DI CANOBBIO and Swiss “C.T” (Canton Ticino) handstamp alongside in accordance with the Sardo-Swiss convention of 1817, the letter has transited by Arona, taxed 15 soldi in transit at Canobbio, a very fine example of a rare postal history item from CampioneProvenance: Collection “Ohnmeiss” and illustrated on page 14 of his book “Campione – l’Exclave Italiana in terra svizzera”
